Aesthetics at The Dental Roots, New Delhi and Gurgaon plays an equal role as the functionality of the teeth. Here, we offer various smile makeover treatments and one of the quickest ones is teeth whitening aka bleaching.
What is Vital Bleaching?
Vital bleaching is an elective procedure which is undertaken to brighten the appearance of your teeth. Bleaching reduces the discolouration of the teeth for an effective period of time.
Is vital tooth bleaching always feasible?
Before starting the process, the oral cavity must be disease-free. Any treatment if required, must be treated before any bleaching can be done. In some cases, the shade change may not be completely satisfactory and further treatment may be required to mask any discolouration which remains after bleaching. Prior treatment includes scaling, polishing, and restorations (fillings), if any.
What is involved in vital tooth bleaching?
In office bleaching Advanced Philip’s Zoom whitening at The Dental Roots
We place a barrier covering the gums and lips so that only the teeth are visible and there is no contamination by saliva. And a protective eyewear is given to cover the eyes, both to the patient and the doctor. A layer of the whitening gel is placed on the teeth and the Zoom lamp is placed for 15 minutes. This process is repeated two times, in order to attain the best results.
This procedure is always under the supervision of our smile makeover specialist in South Delhi or Gurgaon clinic and thus, highly recommended.
At Home Bleaching Zoom Whitening
Impressions of the teeth will be taken at the first visit so that the laboratory can make customised plastic trays that will hold the bleaching agent. The trays will be checked for fit at the second visit and if satisfactory you will be given the trays along with the bleaching agent to take home with thorough instructions for use. The patient is instructed to place the bleaching agent into the wells within the clear plastic trays and to wear these at night, initially for a two-week period or more depending on the individual case.
Will I experience pain during treatment?
Pain is not normally encountered with vital bleaching however sensitivity is common and might be experienced by some patients. In case that happens, the specialist at the dental roots will provide the patient with a desensitizing relief gel.
What are the risks associated with vital tooth bleaching?
It’s a relatively low risk procedure.
Under rare circumstances the following may happen;
- 1. Dental sensitivity
- 2. Chemical burns of the soft tissue
How successful is the treatment?
Success depends on the cause, extent, and duration of the discolouration. The colour change after bleaching may not be stable, re bleaching may be required after 8-12 months. All this is dependent upon the patient’s oral hygiene. The more they maintain it, the result of bleaching would last longer.
At The Dental Roots, our utmost priority is our patient’s level of comfort and what they would want to achieve from the treatment. Keeping that in mind, we suggest the ideal treatment plan. To book your appointment for teeth bleaching, call us on +91 9650440004.
